Is it just me, or does it seem that the only locales left on the planet where one can lie on the ground and look into heavens undiluted by electric light are places where one must be careful not to let certain nasty insects crawl into one’s ear and do a nasty business?

I suppose you have a point there… no people = no lights; no people = reason for there not to be people = nasty bugs?
