Silver Stars

Silver Stars

I saw this beautifully framed on Saturday — it’s actually the sheet music for Silver Stars by Carl Bohm. (As I was in an antique store, the pictures I took secretly are of terrible quality; these are from eBay.) Definitely would not mind hanging this art on my office wall!

The Comet

This delightful Art Nouveau magazine illustration hails from a 1915 edition of Puck Magazine. Sadly this is the only place online I can find the illustration (watermarked, as it is) and I know nothing of the artist, but it’s a fun piece and very in keeping with the aesthetic of the time.

The Four Stars

The Moon, from The Four Stars, 1902 by Alphonse Mucha

These four paintings — The Moon, The Morning Star, The Evening Star and The Pole Star — comprise The Four Stars by Alphonse Mucha, painted in 1902. All feature dramatic light and shade, each maiden alluding to the heavenly body she represents. My favorite is The Moon, but they are best grouped together, for full effect. (I’m a big Mucha fan; I have these four prints up on my wall.)
