Shimmering Rocket
Posted by Danielle in Children's Items on November 9, 2009
This night light rocks my world. It’s part of “Lights in the Night” by Seasons of Cannon Falls, seems to be available here and there, possibly at Target, Amazon, etc etc.
(Image from Tin Toy Arcade because they had the best photo and the best price!)
Our adorable large Red Rocket glows at night in your space shuttle or earthbound bedroom. Just plug in the swivel base into a standard outlet to illuminate to red plasma and floating glitter. As the rocket warms up the glitter will slowly dance through the red liquid. The rocket is silver with blue and red, retro space details.
Outer Space Adventure

This falls into the “too cute to not post” category — a mobile for your littlest astronaut. I like the gentle shapes.
Tykes with Taste

For the kiddie of taste and refinement, Tiffany & Co. has you covered, with the sterling silver Rocket Ship bank and porcelain Cosmic three-piece baby set.
Space Shuttle Bunkbed
Posted by Danielle in Children's Items, Home & Office on June 12, 2008

This popped up under a search in Google Shopping: a space shuttle-themed bunkbed. Where was THIS when I was growing up? Does it come in a queen??
Moon Rug
Posted by Danielle in Home & Office on November 29, 2007

The price makes me wince, but I wouldn’t mind walking on this Moon Rug every day. 210 cm in diameter (that’s almost seven feet wide, folks!) Handmade in France, this rug is 100% wool and will sturdily withstand all manner of walking upon it.
A small step for Atypyk, a giant carpet for you.
Walk on the moon everyday.

Rocket Boy Pendulum Clock
Posted by Danielle in Children's Items, Home & Office on October 25, 2007

I saw this charming clock in the McCloud Mercantile Mall (an unusual thing to spot in a small-town country store.) Timeworks is based in Berkeley, California and hand-makes all their timepieces. This charming one is part of their Storytime line, and Rocket Boy can be found on page 4: ROCKET BOY 13″, with Top Pendulum (ID: SCRB13P)
Blast off in my rocket, way up in the sky
Above buildings and clouds, I’m zoomin’ so high!
It’s a space-age adventure, to travel so far
With my mission to land on a faraway star!
Laser Stars Projector
Posted by Danielle in Children's Items, Home & Office on February 1, 2007

This Laser Stars Projector “projects a combination of green laser stars and blue (slightly ultraviolet-ish blue) clouds onto your ceiling, walls, pets, etc.” All the stars and clouds are in constant motion, and the effect, while saturated in the above photo, is extremely appealing (to me, at least.) I think I need one.
Blimp Pendant Lamp
Posted by Danielle in Children's Items, Home & Office on July 3, 2006

Let me start off by admitting that I both own and adore this lamp. Part ringed-planet, part UFO, part dance-floor lighting, the BLIMP lamp is far too cute to refuse. Mine hangs in my office, and while it doesn’t project much “useful” light, it is heartwarming to behold.
If you’re in the mood to have celestial shapes projected in all directions, like the idea of a all-but-huggable Unidentified Hanging Pendant in your home, or have a sleepy youngster to entrance with the colorful beams and glowing planetary ring, I highly recommend BLIMP.
[Edit, August 4, 2007] It appears this lamp was discontinued by IKEA; it’s nowhere on the site. Maybe try eBay?
