I’ve only been to Disneyland once — I was six, and it was Disneyland’s 25th anniversary that year. With a modicum of research, now you know how old I am. Sigh. I honestly don’t remember much anymore, but this photo is all the proof I need that indeed, Disneyland is the happiest place on Earth.

The Buzz

I didn’t realize that Buzz Lightyear had put time in on the ISS, but he came home a week ago, and is eagerly anticipating his ticker tape parade in October:

Also returning aboard space shuttle Discovery was Disney’s space ranger Buzz Lightyear, after spending 15 months aboard the International Space Station. His time on the orbiting laboratory will celebrated in a ticker-tape parade together with his space station crew mates and former Apollo 11 moonwalker Buzz Aldrin on Oct. 2 at Walt Disney World in Florida.

And hey, the guy’s been working hard while he was up there.

While on the space station, Buzz supported NASA’s education outreach program — Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, or STEM, by creating a series of fun educational online outreach programs. Following his return, Disney is partnering with NASA to create a new online educational game and an online mission patch competition for school kids across America.

Disney space exploration stamps from Maldives

I found these plucky little stamps last week; they hail from Maldives, a plucky little island nation in the Indian Ocean. Space AND Disney characters? Now THAT is a combo!
