Moonboots, old and new

I fondly remember wearing brightly-colored (mock) Moonboots when I was a child in the 1980s. They were thick, they left interesting footprints, they had bands of color….
Napoleon Dynamite helped to bring them back in the spotlight, and hey, the above shows that not only has the name turned into a descriptive term, there’s still moon boots aplenty to be had. Wouldn’t mind a real pair, myself!
Skechers sneakers in astronaut colors

A bit of a stretch? I think not. To me, nothing says “astronaut” like powder blue and silver. Needless to say, when I found these Skechers while looking for replacement sneakers, I had fits. (And then bought them. And showed everyone my astronaut shoes.)
For those interested, these are womens sneakers, Energy 2 – Headways is the shoe line/name, and the color is Cloud Blue (style #11290.)
